In our Research team, an opportunity has opened to cover maternity leave for a

TEMPORARY SCIENTIFIC PROJECT MANAGER

to work from our office in Leiden, the Netherlands. We are seeking a highly organized, motivated, and energetic individual with project management experience who will thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities. You will help support, structure and oversee planning of external and internal research projects. You will help plan experiments and coordinate both on a logistical and technical level with CROs and internal Scientists. Expertise in project management is required. Ideally, you have experience in the field of virology or antibody research.

You will play a central role in supporting and structuring scientific research efforts and growth within the Research team in the Research Department. You will report to the Sr Scientific Project Manager.

This is what you will do on a daily basis and these are your responsibilities:

  • Manage, and act as first point of contact to external collaborators (CRO management).

  • Know how to start up and see a project through, from setting up contracts, material transfer agreements, budgets, to chasing down orders and agreements

  • Write SOWs, agreements with external parties, manage strategic relationships, and support lab activities

  • You have an excellent understanding of budgeting, ordering, and shipments

  • Support the execution of shipments

  • Coordinate timelines and oversee deliverables and project outcomes while keeping up to date the project tracker

  • Assist in Project Management meetings between PM and Research teams by writing meeting minutes and following up on action-items. Support the Scientists with experimental report writing and reviewing.

Job requirements

  • A MSc degree with a scientific background, a PhD is preferred

  • A minimum of 2 years of industry experience as project manager in a biotech or CRO organization

  • Expertise in in vivo scientific experimental design and immunological/virological assays is a plus.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Experience with Project Management software is a plus.

  • Project Management Certification is a plus.

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
