Leyden Labs has a new role and is currently looking for a versatile
LAB OPERATIONS COORDINATOR (32-40 hours/week)
to support our Lab Operations team by ensuring the lab runs efficiently and is fully equipped to support scientific work.
In this pivotal role, you will contribute directly to advancing scientific innovation—ensuring the smooth coordination of life science research material shipments and maintaining the readiness of essential R&D equipment. This dynamic role combines logistics, compliance, and equipment lifecycle management—ideal for someone who thrives on precision, problem-solving, and takes pride in enabling seamless operations behind the scenes.
You’ll collaborate across multiple teams, ensure compliance with specialized regulations, and streamline essential processes that support pioneering research in life sciences and biotechnology. You’ll be part the Lab Operations team, reporting to the Lab Manager and working alongside a Lab Assistant and a Procurement Associate.

Key responsibilities:
Shipment Coordination & Logistics
Coordinate with external logistics partners to organize international shipments of research materials and ensure compliance with shipment regulations and customs.
Maintain accurate shipment records, transport documentation, and invoices.
Optimize logistics workflows and maintain regular communication with external partners and global sites.
Equipment & Storage Management
Oversee equipment commissioning, qualification, and maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
Streamline and optimize equipment-related workflows.
Manage storage utilization, including freezers and critical storage units.
Operations & Compliance
Resolve operational issues related to logistics, equipment, and facilities.
Support lab material ordering and inventory needs.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance.
Act as the main point of contact for operational and facility-related tasks.
Job requirements
MBO degree in logistics, operations, life sciences, or a related field
At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience
Experience in laboratory operations (in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or research) with preferable experience in logistics, or a related field
Good communication skills in both Dutch and English
Preferable experience in LIMS, inventory management systems, ordering platforms
Able to work fully on-site

Ideally our new colleague starts as soon as possible, but we are willing to wait for the best candidate. We understand that you have a notice period or have already planned your annual leave.
